Just a little...Upside Down

We made it to 37 weeks! Whoo! Full Term! I made sure Keith could come to my appointment because it was time for a final ultrasound. This way the Dr can predict size, weight, and presentation of Kash. We knew from my 30 week appointment that little man was breech but he still had plenty of time to turn. Now that we have reached full term and he's already weighing in around 8lbs the odds of him turning at this point are slim.

So now what?...
My Doctor offered to perform a procedure called External Cephalic Version.. AKA I can drug you up and try to manually flip your child with my hands from the outside, at the hospital of course in case the babies heart rate slows or we rupture the placenta THIS way we can have an emergency csection.

EXCUSE ME?? What??
No thank you..

I'm not one to complain of a "natural delivery". I don't care how my baby gets into this world as long as it's safe. Some say frozen pees on top will direct the baby downward, or try lying on an ironing board upside down at a slant. Music, Chiropractors, flashlights. It all seems a bit crazy to me.

As a team, Keith and I decided to go along with a scheduled csection. It will be on April 10th at 7:30am. I'll be 39 weeks at this point. This way Kash will stay put as long as possible but still early enough to avoid going into labor with him in a breech position.

I'll admit I'm nervous, but beyond happy to know that in just 13 short days we will be a family :)
