9 Months and Counting

Kash and I are having so much fun playing with our Christmas gifts. Keith got us this pretty little green beach cruiser, baby seat and helmet included. I had absolutely no idea this was coming but what a GREAT idea. I've had so much fun getting outside and enjoying play time too. He yells through the whole ride. He also got a hot little red wagon to cruise around in.
It has been pretty cold for the beach I didn't want to risk Kash getting a cold.. but the other day temperatures reached into the 60s so we bundled up and had a beach day. Kash was in a portable crib last time we came he was so young but this time it was funny to watch him play in the sand for the first time. He constantly tried to eat it.

I can't believe my little monkey is already 9 months old. At his Drs appointment we found out he's ABOVE the 99% in height and weight. He is definetly a big boy but he's healthy as can be and that's what matters. He screams more and more at the Dr every appointment. How embarrassing ..
Kash isn't crawling yet. He scoots pulls and wiggles to get places but he hasn't quit mastered crawling completely. I somewhat enjoy not chasing him around as much..
I'm going to milk this time as long as I can. He will get it down soon. He is definetly the quiete very laid back type. I'm afraid to have another ;)

Catching Up

I can't believe it's been a few weeks since I've blogged. This is Kashs first Christmas and I feel like I'm running around like a crazy lady {which I probably look like}. Now that my shopping is complete and Christmas is just a few days away I feel like I can slow down and breath... and post :)
I posted this photo on Instagram one morning when Kash and I were home cuddling. Little did I know Target ended up liking my photo and posting it to their own Instagram. I most definitely cried for about 15 minutes. Only a mom would understand. It was he highlight of my week, along with my husbands Christmas party and celebrating our one year anniversary together. I feel like I've known him my whole life. I couldn't be happier.
We took Kash man to see Santa at the mall. It was a Saturday but the line was fairly short. Keith and I gulped down two large Starbucks coffees to make it through the line while Kash was In major AW over all the other children. We were afraid he would be scared of Santa, but this kid is so easy going he acted like him and Santa hung out everyday. He melts my heart.
Last but not least I finally got our Christmas cards in and mailed out to family and friends. Here's a few photos from our "Grandmas house photo shoot". This kid lets us do whatever we want with him. Christmas is only a few days away I'm so excited I can't stand it. I'm so ready for good food, mimosas, and watching this little boy get spoiled by Santa.

Weekend Fun

  December is in full swing! That means every weekend is full of activities involving Christmas in some way. Kash is really liking at the action going on everywhere we go. Keith was on call all weekend so Kash and I spent a lot of time with Grandma and Grandpa. Market common in Myrtle Beach had a few things going on so we grabbed lunch and spent the day walking around. We found a huge Christmas tree in the square so it clearly turned into a photoshoot {as always}
Sunday we went to the Murrells Inlet Christmas parade. I assumed Kash would love all the music & costumes more than anything but he was more interested in the candy we were piling up on his stroller tray. Keith even tried taking the candy wrappers away and Kash threw an outrageous fit.
Kash flipped over the chubby bulldog in reindeer ears in the back of the car. He thinks our dogs are just the coolest things on earth so he immediately spotted this cute guy.
The most precious part of the parade was some little girls walking next to this frozen float. A bunch of them ran up to me to put candy in my hand, the last little girl missed the memo and dunked tootsie rolls in my wine {my candy cup apparently} My brother almost died laughing. The innocence of kids is so heartwarming sometimes. Next weekend we plan to take little man to meet Santa at the mall, We will see how this one goes.
   Have a great week everyone!

Turkey Time

I can't believe another holiday as a family is done and over. I'm pretty sure I'm still full up to my eyes. It went so fast I didn't have time to take all the food pictures everyone else did. I'm sure yall looked at just as many delicious things as I did ;) I'll spare those. We started at Keiths moms house where we did do a little family stroll down the neighborhood. I think every parent wants that super cute baby picture in the leaves.. We had some successful pictures, some not so great.
The next morning after some "fake tree hunting" we made breakfast and put up our first tree. We figure when Kash is old enough for a real one we can find a tree farm. My mom started Kash with the cutest baby's first Christmas ornament. We, of course, started him with the coolest hanging Spider-Man from Target.  Keith says it kind of looks like Kash with the baby body. Haha.
It's feeling a bit like Christmas around The Layton home and my heart couldn't feel more full. I'm so lucky to have such a beautiful family to make these memories with for the rest of my life
Hope yall had a wonderful holiday!

Time for some decorating

Keith had Wednesday off so we decided to wonder Target. He swore he wouldn't let me decorate until after Thanksgiving but that all went out the window when we got to the Christmas section. WAY to excited for our first Christmas as a family of three. We bought a few ornaments, hung stockings, and wrapped a few frames on the walls. This weekend we are going to get a tree and start a little shopping. Kash was our little helper this week. He loves all the lights & colors. This next month will be magical for him.

My mom went out shopping on Black Friday and bought Kash the new Graco 3 in 1 car seat. He's outgrowing his Britax so she decided to go ahead and give it to us. We made a grocery store run that night and this boy was SO happy. As silly as it sounds he put me in tears. It's forward facing and being able to see Daddy and I now was amazing. He laughed and smiled all the way there and back. We got home and made some delicious cinnimon rolls. I'll just let your mouth water over those.

Rainy Days

Today is the second rainy day in a row. I'm not talking a little rain either. Constant. Keith asked if he should build an ark just to be safe. I hate when this happens because I feel like I can't take Kash anywhere. We are officially stuck at the house. We play with lots of toys and watch a lot of cartoons in bed with mom.
I have no complaints though. I can't imagine getting him to cuddle like this will last for much longer. The storm last night kept him up for hours, so we are both tired as it is.
He does love playing in the bath on rainy days. Sometimes I get on my suit and hop in with him to splash around. He is quiet the little fish now a days. He loves his munchkin turtles and water toys but he still won't keep his little paws off my body wash & shampoo :)

Feeling like Christmas at Grandma's

Another weekend coming to an end. I hate that we wait so patiently for the weekend and then it's gone in a flash. We make sure we see my family every weekend though. We are so blessed that Kash's Grandparents and Uncles live in the same city so we can see them whenever we want to. Family is the most important thing to us and it's our favorite way to spend our extra time. We all get along so well and always have the best time. Grandma started decorating for Christmas this weekend so naturally Kash lit up like crazy and loved all the sparkle and shine. We can't wait to celebrate his first Christmas as a family of 3. I'm ready for him to experience all the magic and fun that comes along with the holidays. This weekend was the first weekend I felt that warm cozy feeling of the holidays beginning.

We also got to welcome this beautiful little girl to our family. This is Lia, I guess you could say I'm officially an Aunt.

Lia and Kash are already the best of friends. They try to share toys though, which isn't the best idea but none the less absolutely adorable.

Tis the Season for All Day PJ's

Every morning Kash wakes up around 8:00am {Amen} This just started a few weeks ago. He usually has a bottle and lays in our bed and plays with me while watching cartoons for another hour. I noticed that the colder each morning gets the longer he stays in his pajamas.
I guess it's kind of like myself and yoga pants. Why not stay comfy when we are around the house for the day? Sometimes he doesn't even change, or I change him right into a clean pair. If only it was acceptable for adults to wear these all day. It is so much cuter when babies do it.
I love all of Carter's footie pjs the most, both fleece or nylon like this raccoon pair that is actually on sale right now. A week away from Thanksgiving, that means I can officially start buying Christmas ones right?

                 Happy Friday Ya'll, xo

Crawling Out of Hiding...New Mom Style

I can't believe it's been 7 months since I gave birth to such a perfect little boy. They weren't kidding when they said motherhood was a full time job. I do admit that I am upset with myself that I haven't blogged since then but I've been so busy . I feel that now that I have a happy beautiful baby boy on my hands I'm ready to explore the world and share our moments together. I love my family and wouldn't have it any other way. I never knew I could love someone or something as much as I love Kash.. and I didn't know I could love his Daddy more until I saw how much he loved Kash too. Here are some photos of what we have been through so far. I can't wait to start sharing our journey again as a new family with all of you, here we go.

First Week Home

So here we are, home with a newborn. Up every two hours at night for feedings and poopy diapers just as often. I wouldn't change it for the world, his smile can light up a room. Here's some of our favorite moments caught on camera :)
